As you may be aware, approximately 2 years ago we announced the “sunset” of our DMM V8 System due to the introduction of the DMM 9 System. During this time period we have been continuing to support the DMM V8 system, providing updates for any pre-existing bugs. Beginning January 1, 2017 The Aquila Group, Inc. will no longer be providing support for the DMM V8 System, including any pre-existing bugs (existing or newly discovered). All users may continue to utilize this version of the DMM System, however please understand annual maintenance will only cover support for code changes dealing with the DMM V9 system.
Although the DMM V8 System may continue to run on existing hardware and Microsoft operating systems, technology is changing rapidly and this will eventually result in incompatibilities. As a result, we want to provide ample notification to our remaining DMM V8 user base with regard to the discontinuation of updates for your system.
We are encouraging all existing DMM V8 users to begin the planning process with regard to a migration into the DMM V9 product line. We anticipate converting 100% of the remaining user base over to DMM V9 within the next 6 – 18 months, so please plan accordingly. Additionally, please understand the DMM V9 product is a major upgrade from DMM V8 (in both structure and interface). As a participate in the annual maintenance program this upgrade is provided free-of-charge, however it will require Aquila personnel to physically be on-site over a 3 day time period.
